We’ve come a long way… but we still have a lot of work to get done.
Women have fought for their rights over the years and throughout history, we’ve come a long way.. but unfairness and segregation still exist until this day. We damand for a change, but change can only occur once we all come together and stop asking for fairness from those who took it away in the first place.
Converse has launched a very empowering campaign that reinforces what it truly means to be a girl. They associated one of their most famous pair of converse with the following statement: a worldwide symbol of expression.
Under the #InMyConverse lay an army of strong and powerful women who stand together in face of challenges.
When I first received my box of sneakers, right after I opened the box, I first came across a midsized board made from hard fibreboard, and a statement by Converse saying that these sneakers represent a change an an opportunity to share a message of love, unity, and community. It also said that, using my own words, I can define what it means to be a girl and write on the blank canvas.
I chose to keep it it simple & powerful, and wrote “GRL PWR ❤️“ on my beautiful and empowering sneakers.
I truly believe that women should come together and unite in order for us to join the movement of change and encouragement. To be our best selves, to shine bright and not have anyone dim our lights.
I also want to thank Converse for the positive message they are sending to girls worldwide, including myself. We often forget our worth due to many reasons. So thank you for this kind reminder.
I also had a fun and great photoshoot while wearing my pair of chunks along with the long beige dress and a denim jacket, the outfit has a chic and spring vibe. If you want to take a peak, photos can be found at the bottom of this blog post!
